Follow me on my JOURNEY!!!

Its been a little over 4 years since I’ve been able to go on a mission trip.  And because this is such a calling in my life, I’ve been anxiously awaiting another opportunity to be fulfilled and serve someone in an awesome, lasting way that’ll impact them and bring joy to there life.  My job has gone well; however, there was never a convenient time to fundraise, pick up and leave to help someone.  Well, in January, our church announced all the mission trips that they will have this year including the trip to Gulu, Uganda in December to give 2000 orphans an awesome Christmas.  It immediately dawned on me that this would be the best time to go because around Christmas, work tends to slow down.  So once the church started accepting applications, I submitted mine and patiently waited to be selected.  About 2 weeks ago, I received notice that I was accepted and immediately I began to feel the joy in my heart that only comes from such acts of service.  I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a blessing to these kids and mothers who haven’t experienced life anywhere near the life we take for granted.  I hope that the small difference our team makes will allow these kids even if its just 1, to feel loved and have the self-esteem to make a difference in Uganda. Undoubtedly, I know it’s us who will forever be changed in the way we live and go about our lives.
